  • Experience with 3D CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineers on new product design concepts.
  • Create technical documentation (drawings and BOMs) for parts and units.
  • Ensure designs support efficient production and assembly.
  • Implement requirements for units and parts per specifications and cost targets.
  • Support assembly and testing of designed units.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of TRUMPF products.

The Internship will provide a college-level student with practical and professional experience that will enhance and complement their classroom learning. The Mechanical Engineering Intern participates in development of machine tools and machine tools components.Internship Duration: Onsite in Farmington, CT from January 2027 - August 2027 At least 32 hours weeklyPrinciple Duties & Responsibilities:Work with Mechanical Design Engineers on new product design conceptsCreate technical documentation (drawings and BOMs) for assigned parts and unitsEnsure that units and parts are designed for efficient series production and assemblyImplement defined requirements for units and partsEnsure that units and parts are designed according to specifications and cost targetsSupport assembly and testing designed unitsOptimize designed units according to assembly and test resultsContinuous improvement of functionality and reliability of TRUMPF productsSupport production and assembly on mechanical design related issues.Create design changesQualifications:Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is required. Strong inter-personal communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
