Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers, controls and schedulers on nuclear power plant modification projects. You will coordinate across internal and external groups to manage the life cycle of project execution.

You will own safety, schedule, budget, reporting and client experience, mentor the team, and build solid relationships with task engineers and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years in a technical field (engineering, construction, planning).
  • 5+ years in a firm/client liaison or lead role.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project execution and coordinate resources from each discipline.
  • Own all aspects of project performance: safety, schedule, budget, reporting, client experience.
  • Direct and mentor project team to ensure accountability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with client task engineers and stakeholders.

Job description

Description

This position will offer you the opportunity to manage project(s) consisting of engineers, designers, controls and scheduling professionals involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant modifications. The position will involve coordinating with multiple internal and external departments to manage the life cycle of project execution.

  • Responsible for project execution, coordination of resources from each discipline as required
  • Take ownership for all aspects of project performance including safety, schedule, budget, reporting and client experience through entire project lifecycle
  • Manage and direct the project team to ensure accountability. Mentor and coach team members
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client task engineers and stakeholders
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed safely, satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
  • Support the reporting of key performance indicators for schedule, budget and other dashboard items
  • Identify and control construction risk
  • Recognize, identify, track and control change
  • Communicate and consult with appropriate stakeholders and supervisors
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats
  • Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with academic coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfers
  • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • 10+ years of experience in a technical field (engineering, construction, planning, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience with serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead role
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities is critical to success
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting
  • Schedule development and management
  • Budget management

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Construction management or a management/business degree
  • Engineering design experience a plus
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • MBA is a plus
  • Experience writing proposals is a plus

Compensation Range

$145,310.00 - $222,001.00
