Job summary

Ruveon, Bayer’s glyphosate subsidiary in the Crop Science division, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Co‑op in Texas. You will assist engineers on process improvements, equipment reliability, and control system startups while gaining hands‑on experience in a chemical plant environment.

The role requires enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program, 40‑hour work weeks, and the ability to relocate to the Luling site; compensation includes standard benefits and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
• Sophomore year completed or higher.
• Willingness to work in a chemical plant environment and ability to work 40 hours per week.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders and move safely within an operating plant.
• Ability to drive to and from the work location.
• Available for a 6‑month Co‑op assignment for Spring 2027 or Fall 2027, with accommodations for school schedules.

Responsibilities

• Improve chemical processes through yield and capacity improvements, waste reduction, cycle time reduction, and cost improvements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Support design, installation and start‑up of automatic process control and material handling systems.
• Assist engineers in developing project objectives and specifications for customer approval.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, plant safety standards and piping safety design.
• Collaborate with engineers to apply maintenance and reliability learnings to projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist with procurement activities.
