Billerud NA is offering a co-op engineering opportunity in the United States focused on mechanical support for mill operations and process optimization. Co‑op assignments are designed to grow candidates across disciplines, with rotations that could lead to full‑time engineering positions upon completion.

Qualifications

• Engineering curriculum with an interest in the Pulp, Paper and Packaging Industry
• Minimum 2.75 GPA
• Must have completed three semesters of college education prior to Co‑op start date
• Must be available to work one of two Co‑op rotations which run either January through August or May through December

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical expertise to support mill operations
• Work on projects that improve equipment reliability, maintain the mill’s infrastructure, and reduce overall costs
• Assist with machine shutdowns and start‑ups
• Monitor, assess, analyze, and optimize process equipment
• Monitor, assess, and analyze equipment variability
• Reduce environmental impact
• Provide technical support for key departments
• Utilize problem solving and analytical skills to achieve department initiatives
