Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university.
• GPA of 2.7 or above.
• Familiarity with design standards and codes.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation or both).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with design standards and drafting standards used by the department.
• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and studies for simple engineering tasks.
• Assist in producing estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Assist in producing detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches.
• Assist engineers and designers in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
