Job Title: Mechanical Engineer V (Product Design Engineer)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract | 6 Months

We are seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join a team developing next-generation consumer hardware products. This role will focus on designing, developing, validating, and delivering innovative mechanical solutions from concept through production.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanical engineer with extensive experience designing and shipping high-volume consumer electronic products, wearable devices, or other sophisticated hardware systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and global manufacturing partners to bring products from concept to reality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.


• 8+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer electronics, wearable devices, or other high-volume hardware products.

Strong knowledge of:

• Design for Manufacturability (DFM)


• Design for Assembly (DFA)


• GD&T and production drawings


• Statistical tolerance analysis


• Heat transfer, statics, dynamics, and structural design


• Plastics, metals, adhesives, and material selection


• Injection molding, machining, stamping, MIM, additive manufacturing, and related manufacturing processes


• PCBA and flexible circuit integration


• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.


• 10+ years of product design and development experience.


• Experience developing handheld, wearable, or other compact consumer hardware products.


• Experience working with global manufacturing and supply chain partners throughout product development and production.

Knowledge of:

• Reliability and compliance testing


• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)


• Simulation and Design of Experiments (DOE)
