Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design of mechanical parts and assemblies. The role involves working in a cross-functional development group and handling small-scale designs with guidance, onsite at the Westerville, OH Polaris location.

The candidate should have a BSME or related degree, with 2+ years of experience (or 6+ years in lieu of a degree). Strong communication and CAD skills are required.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with an Associate degree; 6+ years may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of engineering modeling tools relevant to mechanical design.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design of mechanical parts and assemblies. This person will work in a cross-functional development group. A variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment, and will handle some small‑scale designs with guidance. This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH - Polaris location.

Responsibilities

• Punctuality and regular attendance.
• Contribute to design projects and handle simple, tightly scoped design tasks with guidance.
• Create 3-Dimensional models using 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) package.
• Create and revise drawings and bill of materials
• Interact with employees, outside vendors and suppliers as needed.
• Build prototypes to support the development of product design.
• Other Duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or directly related degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate degree; Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of applicable engineering modeling tools.
• Technical knowledge of content primarily related to mechanical design
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role in the MN and MO locality is between $68,227 to $93,812 per year: (based on a 40-hour work week)]-salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary.
