Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to lead the development of advanced test beds for battery packs. You will take concepts from CAD models through fabrication and assembly, delivering robust systems.

You will design HVAC and thermal management, hydrogen and electrolyte handling, and air-handling subsystems, and collaborate with Electrical, Controls, and Chemical engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and DAQ hardware.

Qualifications

• Experience leading mechanical design of complex test beds from concept to fabrication.
• Familiarity with HVAC and thermal management systems for battery packs.
• Ability to translate requirements into reliable mechanical hardware with early failure detection.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration with Electrical, Controls, and Chemical engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of complex test beds, from conceptual CAD through to fabrication and assembly.
• Develop HVAC, thermal, hydrogen, electrolyte, and air-handling systems for battery packs and auxiliary systems.
• Derisk and validate by translating high-level testing requirements into functional hardware that identifies failure modes early.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Controls, and Chemical Engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and DAQ hardware into designs.

Job description

• Design & Development: Lead the mechanical design of complex test beds, from conceptual CAD
• through to fabrication and assembly. This includes HVAC systems, thermal management systems,
• hydrogen management systems, electrolyte management systems, and air-handling systems for
• System-Level Integration: Create test environments that accurately simulate real-world conditions
• for our battery packs and auxiliary systems (pumps, manifolds, and power electronics).
• Derisking & Validation: Work closely with the Design Engineering and Test teams to translate
• high-level testing requirements into functional mechanical hardware that identifies failure modes
• early in the development cycle.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Electrical, Controls, and Chemical Engineers to
• integrate sensors, actuators, and DAQ (Data Acquisition) hardware into your mechanical designs.
