Job summary

Crane Currency is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Technology Transfer in Nashua, NH to lead the relocation, installation, and qualification of production equipment across manufacturing sites. You will translate requirements into equipment specifications, coordinate disassembly, transport, reassembly, and commissioning while ensuring safety and quality.

Collaboration with engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience moving design concepts through concept to production.
• Advanced working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
• Practical knowledge of machining and fabrication methods (milling, lathes, drills).
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic system design and troubleshooting.
• Experience installing, commissioning, transferring, or upgrading manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical-engineering workstream for technology-transfer projects from assessment to stable production and closeout.
• Evaluate equipment condition, feasibility, safety, and site-readiness before relocation or installation.
• Translate process needs into equipment specifications, layouts, and installation requirements.
• Create/update mechanical drawings and BOMs; maintain documentation.
• Coordinate disassembly, transportation, reassembly, alignment, and utility connections.
• Lead or support design reviews, installation-readiness reviews, and commissioning plans.
• Define qualification and performance-verification activities with Quality and Validation.
• Provide technical direction to suppliers, contractors, and internal trades; ensure compliance with specifications.
