Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Test & Measurement to join our R&D team and drive ownership of design from concept to productization, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will design mechanical assemblies, enclosures and hardware for test and measurement hardware, perform thermo-mechanical analyses, prototype, validate, and support manufacturing. This role demands problem-solving and strong communication in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical or system design.
• Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes.
• Knowledge in heat transfer, structural analysis, tolerance analysis, design of experiments, and mechanical design.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop, model, prototype, and refine solutions for NI products and integrated electronic systems
• Select and approve materials, components, and mechanical hardware
• Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing.
• Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up, thermal and structural analyses of products and subsystems.
• Conduct verification and validation testing for your products.
• Provide support to the manufacturing team throughout production.
• Support purchasing to ensure quality delivery of all mechanical parts.
• Become a leading technical resource on electronics packaging technology
