Job summary

Emerson in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to drive design and integration of test and measurement hardware. You will own mechanical concepts from concept through productization, modeling, prototyping, and collaboration with vendors to ensure quality parts and devices.

You will apply heat transfer, structural and tolerance analyses, and 3D CAD skills to deliver robust assemblies, enclosures, and accessories, while supporting manufacturing and purchasing teams throughout

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in mechanical engineering is required or preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical or system design are required.
• Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, model, prototype, and refine solutions for NI products and integrated electronic systems.
• Select and approve materials, components, and mechanical hardware.
• Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing.
• Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up, thermal and structural analyses of products and subsystems.
• Conduct verification and validation testing for your products.
• Provide support to the manufacturing team throughout production.
• Support purchasing to ensure quality delivery of all mechanical parts.
• Become a leading technical resource on electronics packaging technology
