Job summary

Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support HM&E systems aboard Navy ships with programmatic, administrative, engineering and technical duties.

The role covers life cycle management, testing, installation alterations, and documentation under NSWCPD SEP processes, with field coordination and on-site ship checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Active DoD Secret level security clearance.
• Three years of experience in Navy Ship Auxiliary systems (AC/R, HES-C, Auxiliary Fuel, Lube Oil) and testing of these systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-service engineering for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Auxiliary, Combat Support, Life Support and Ventilation, and/or Compressed Air Systems.
• Provide engineering/technical support, test procedure development, testing, and onsite coordination for programs including MACHALTs, engineering change proposals, and ship change documents (SCDs).
• Review preliminary and detail designs; identify discrepancies with installation drawings and vessel configuration; identify interferences.
• Provide Ship system configuration, testing, training, support, troubleshooting, and assessments of HM&E systems.
• Conduct pre- and post-installation ship checks to verify installation drawings.
• Participate in NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP) activities and support Systems Engineering Plan tools.

The candidate will provide programmatic; administrative; engineering; technical; training; logistical; maintenance; installations/alterations; Life Cycle Management; technical data management; catalog updating, and general systems, and equipment support for HM&E systems for the NSWCPD, specifically for the Auxiliary Machinery Systems Division.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide in-service engineering for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC/R), Auxiliary, Combat Support, Life Support and Ventilation, and/or Compressed Air Systems
• Provide engineering/technical support, test procedure development, testing, and onsite coordination support for programs, including Machine Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and/or ship change documents (SCDs).
• Review preliminary designs, detail designs, and drawings; Identify discrepancies between installation drawings, and actual vessel configuration; identify interferences
• Provide Ship system configuration, testing, training, support, troubleshooting, and assessments of HM&E systems
• Conduct pre- and post-installation ship checks to verify the accuracy of installation drawings
• Actively participate in the NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), which includes attending meetings; completing action items; participating on sub teams, and participating in training, and assessments. Provide support for Systems Engineering Plan tools and processes

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
• Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
• Three (3) years of experience in: Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including AC/R, HES-C, Auxiliary Fuel, and Lube Oil systems, Auxiliary Pumps, and Smart Valves, Auxiliary Machinery, and testing of these systems.
• Three (3) years of experience in: Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including distributed machinery
• Control systems and software; Auxiliary Fuel, and Lube Oil systems; Auxiliary Pumps, and Smart Valves; Auxiliary Machinery, and the testing of these systems
• Knowledge of NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and/or ship change documents (SCDs) processes
• Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
• Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
