Job summary

True Anomaly seeks a Mechanical Engineer (II-III) to lead the mechanical design of flight hardware for space systems, translating mission needs into robust, flight-ready structures and mechanisms. You will own mechanical design for LEO/GEO satellites and on-orbit servicing vehicles.

Based in Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA, you will develop 3D CAD models, perform analyses, and support design reviews to ensure performance, mass, and reliability in demanding space environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1–7 years of professional mechanical design experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
  • Exposure to spacecraft or satellite systems and space environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical structures for LEO/GEO satellites and on-orbit servicing vehicles.
  • Develop spacecraft structural systems from concept through flight hardware delivery under senior guidance.
  • Design primary and secondary structures for launch loads per ICD requirements.
  • Develop spacecraft mechanisms and deployment systems for on-orbit operation.
  • Package electronics and avionics within spacecraft structure with thermal and harness considerations.
  • Support propulsion system mechanical integration, mounting, and routing of propellant lines.
  • Create 3D CAD models and drawings using NX and/or SolidWorks.
  • Prepare design documentation and participate in PDR/CDR/TRR reviews.
  • Contribute to test plans for structural and mechanism validation.
