Job summary

Gravitics is seeking engineers to build space systems across the full product lifecycle, from pressurized structures to tooling, with hands-on design and cross-functional collaboration.

You will own design, work with suppliers and manufacturing, and apply GD&T, loads knowledge, and industry standards. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in mechanical or aerospace engineering are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Familiarity with CAD and Analysis packages such as NX and Simcenter3D.
  • Knowledge of loads such as pressure, vibration, shock, thermal.
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed component and assembly drawings incorporating GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Apply first-order hand calculations to assess and iterate designs quickly.
  • Build finite element models to validate designs for vehicle requirements.
  • Own design, development, and implementation of custom tooling for programs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to realize designs; manage schedules and budgets.
  • Track non-conformances and ensure quality of structural hardware.
  • Be the expert for the system from concept to mission control.
