Mechanical Engineer Senior - Kwajalein Atoll - 3305

Location: Kwajalein Atoll

Essential Functions

• Support operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of TRADEX antenna systems, including guiding technicians.
• Participate in system improvement and modernization from design to acceptance.
• Provide performance reports and recommendations to the Sensor Manager.
• Maintain system documentation such as manuals, maintenance schedules, and drawings.
• Promote a safety-conscious work environment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to maximize sensor availability.
• Lead procurement and spares efforts, including vendor selection and component research.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Hardware design, structural analysis, and project organization skills.
• Experience with mechanical equipment like pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Willingness and ability to assist with manual maintenance tasks.
• Ability to develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read schematic diagrams.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.
• Leadership in multidisciplinary projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of related experience, including mechanical design and experience with large mechanical systems or radar systems is preferred.

Additional Qualifications

• Climber II Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet.
• Willingness to work occasional non-duty hours and weekends.
• Must relocate to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, and be able to travel as needed.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.
