Overview
GKG is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Senior to join our team for an upcoming contract award in support of INSCOM.
Responsibilities
- Work with other Government and contractor engineers to perform the Facility Engineering Program.
- 3D design experience in solid modeling programs such as SolidWorks, Unigraphics, or Pro-E.
- Provide professional engineering support for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) planning for contractor supported locations.
- Support equipment within the designated strategic (fixed), tactical, and mobile facilities or mission equipment shelters and systems inside or outside the secure environment.
- Provide testing and balancing services and support for air and water systems.
- Review engineering design proposals, drawings, specifications, and technical documents, and recommend improvements.
- Advise Government engineers on all aspects of HVAC facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Review reports and studies to identify deficiencies and participate in planning for construction or redesign.
- Utilize software and hardware tools to track load changes and other parameters of design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Establish energy and heat load budgets, identify deficiencies, anticipate future requirements, and estimate factors for construction planning.
- Evaluate and recommend load control methods to reduce utility demand and costs.
- Prepare design concepts, program development brochures, MILCON programming documents, cost estimates, and related documentation for construction projects.
- Inspect construction projects or existing facilities to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians working in related areas.
- Maintain technical liaison and communication between on-site technicians and the COR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Final Top-Secret Clearance based on a TIER 5 Background Investigation and favorable SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 8 years of diversified professional experience.
- Experience in design, installation, operation, and maintenance of automatic control systems.
- Supervision of plant operations and maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Resident engineering experience on complex HVAC construction projects.
- Experience with DDC and BAS systems.
- Professional registration preferred.
- Fluent in English with ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation.
- US Citizen.
