Job summary

Job Overview

Major Maintenance Vehicles (MMV) Mechanical Engineer at Northrop Grumman, responsible for coordinating with suppliers, reviewing designs, and integrating with product teams to ensure adherence to requirements and implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with suppliers, review designs, and integrate with NG integrated product teams.
• Actively participate in design reviews, review and approve subcontract deliverables, and assess supplier readiness for contractual milestones.

• Maintain strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail throughout the process.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen.
• Active Secret clearance at time of application.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
• Experience with Support Equipment hardware development for aircraft/aerospace programs, including requirements generation, conceptual/detail design, design reviews, and/or testing.
• Experience with Support Equipment requirements analysis, trade studies, SERD generation, design solutions, acquisition, test, and validation.
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related field with 2-5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with Teamcenter.
• Hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, power, hand and measuring tools.
• Aerospace / ICBM maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems.
• Knowledge in the development of SE design solutions.
• ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T proficiency.

Working Conditions

Clearance required for start: Yes (Secret).

Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Standard work schedule is a 9/80.

Salary and Benefits

Primary level salary range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00. This range serves as a general guideline; base salary offers are determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.

Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and potentially long‑term incentives.
