Smiths Group, via John Crane in Pasadena, TX, is seeking an engineer to join the Regional Engineering team. You will support Sales and Aftermarket, provide application support to global drawing offices, and troubleshoot engineering challenges while collaborating with central experts.

The role emphasizes detailed drawing work, product selection for mechanical seals, and timely technical responses within a global framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 2 years experience with mechanical seals and/or rotating equipment.
• Working knowledge of CAD and application software (Solid Edge preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and process application requests.
• Prepare detailed drawing office requests to support GA and detail drawings.
• Use CAD to create proposal drawings for global drawing offices.
• Select and apply products to meet customer needs for mechanical seals.
• Perform calculations (heat generation, torque, thrust, flow rates, etc.).
• Generate engineering proposals/specifications for standard and custom designs.
• Coordinate with Sales and Project originators to ensure design acceptance.
• Record activity in iProjects and Lean Kit; respond to internal customers.
