Job summary

BOAB Ventures is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design and qualify precision mechanisms for mission systems. This onsite role involves hands-on lab work, prototypes, integration, and hardware testing at client sites in Chantilly, VA; Palm Bay, FL; or Carlsbad, CA.

A Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance is required and current within the last two years is preferred. You will lead from concept through test and production with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s with 2+ years.
• Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance (recent within 2 years preferred).
• Onsite work requirement in Chantilly, VA; Palm Bay, FL; or Carlsbad, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, analysis, prototype integration, and qualification testing for precision mechanisms and electro mechanical hardware.
• Build 3D models, drawings, and assembly documentation; manage technical data packages.
• Evaluate material selections, optimize for performance, SWaP, manufacturability and reliability.
• Plan and run component and system tests, analyze results, drive design improvements.
• Present designs at peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and customer reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, CM, suppliers, technicians, and test teams to move designs to production.
• Support field test and demonstration activities as needed.

Our client is a major defense prime supporting customers with some of the most demanding missions in national security.You will own major components and subsystems from early concept through integration and test.
