Stratus Team, LLC, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support the Federal Fuels Market Sector in Richmond, VA. You will help with mechanical design, inspection, and planning services for industrial and fuel-related infrastructure projects, emphasizing piping and fuel systems.

Ideal candidates have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of experience, and an EIT certification, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant 3D.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• EIT is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant 3D; BIM experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Understanding of industrial mechanical systems including piping layout, pumping systems, and storage tanks.
• Ability to travel and pass a military background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design and layout of industrial piping and pumping systems, storage tanks, and related equipment.
• Support field inspections and data gathering to inform engineering design and planning.
• Prepare and update technical drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop project plans and specifications.
• Organize and maintain project documentation, reports, and communication logs.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools to create reports, schedules, and presentations.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable industry standards and client requirements.
