Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Wilmington, NC contract assignment. The role requires a BSME and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment to lead installations and drive engineering projects.

Location is Wilmington, North Carolina with a standard 8am to 5pm schedule. The position offers contract terms with partner clients and opportunities to oversee equipment conversions and start-up activities on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience with manufacturing equipment.
• Experience leading system installations and engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on mechanical support on the manufacturing floor during construction, installation, debugging, and startup of automated systems.
• Supervise and direct internal technicians, maintenance staff, and external contractors through equipment conversion and testing.
• Review, modify, and finalize engineering documentation including drawings, machine specs, and installation checklists.
• Procure essential materials and assess existing equipment compatibility with new installation plans.
• Translate engineering requirements into effective process and equipment designs while troubleshooting and ensuring site safety.
