Job summary

PEKO Precision Products, Inc. in Rochester, NY seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support the NPI division in designing cutting-edge technology, new products, and automation for OEMs and startups. You will apply CAD/FEA, collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform analyses, and help bring concepts to manufacturing with hands-on prototyping and testing.

The role requires 3–5 years of design experience, CAD mastery (SolidWorks/CREO), and strong communication skills. Travel (<5 days/year) may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S.M.E. degree (4-year) or equivalent engineering degree.
• 3–5 years of Engineering Design experience with commercial/industrial equipment.
• Proficient in CAD design and 3D detailing (SolidWorks, CREO, Inventor).
• Experience with CAD, FEA, FMEA, tolerancing, DFMA, and GDT.
• Experience with machining, sheet metal, welding, and material processing.

Responsibilities

• Generate designs and manufacturing drawings per customer specs within cost/quality/delivery constraints.
• Provide concepts and drawings in analog and digital formats.
• Provide engineering analysis to support manufacturing, design and process development.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical power transmission, fluid power, and basic automation for design.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve design, manufacturing and process problems.
• Respond quickly to delivery requirements and support prototyping/testing.
• Travel up to <5 days/year for customer meetings.
