Job summary

National Instruments is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead electronics packaging design, prototyping, and materials selection.

You will collaborate with NI R&D divisions, perform thermal and structural analyses, and ensure manufacturability from concept through production, while mentoring others and driving best practices in packaging technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes.
• Knowledge in heat transfer, tolerance analysis, design of experiments, and electromechanical design.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Experience with 3D CAD software programs; Creo Parametric preferred.
• Metal and plastic materials processing techniques and design for manufacturability.
• Exposure to Structural and Thermal FEA tools.
• Strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, model, and prototype electronics packaging solutions for NI products
