Job summary

Verrus, LLC is seeking a Data Center Engineer focused on Mechanical Engineering to lead modular data center infrastructure projects from Mountain View, CA or Santa Monica, CA. This role emphasizes offsite fabrication, emission‑reducing modular systems, and hands‑on engineering in a lean organization.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of mechanical design experience for data centers, with strong expertise in Creo/CATIA and ANSYS, plus FAT management and MEP collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Advanced expertise with solid modeling and analysis packages (Creo, CATIA, ANSYS).
• Proven GD&T knowledge for system assemblies.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA) and FAT coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed, interface-based mechanical designs for data center modular components.
• Lead collaboration with external vendors to transition FAT from onsite to offsite environments.
• Refine system specifications, P&IDs, and component selection with internal and external partners.
• Collaborate with building automation team to shift commissioning activities offsite where possible.
• Drive value engineering across mechanical subsystems to improve designs and delivery.
