Job Description

Michael Baker seeks a Mechanical Engineer experienced in designing mechanical systems for Mission Critical/Data Center facilities. As a Designer of Record (DOR), you will create complex HVAC and piping system drawings for various project phases, focusing on expanding and executing projects in the Mission Critical/Data Center sector. Responsibilities include:

• Leading or contributing to multiple mechanical engineering design projects.
• Performing CFD analysis for new and existing facilities.
• Supporting business development with mechanical design expertise.
• Communicating effectively with clients and team members.
• Managing project budgets and schedules.
• Assisting with scope definition and cost estimation.
• Overseeing or completing mechanical load and design calculations.
• Using software like Revit and Trane Trace for engineering tasks.
• Developing project specifications and ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Collaborating with construction partners for cost-effective redesigns.
• Creating work plans and proposals for new projects.
• Evaluating field installations and recommending modifications.
• Performing quality control and proposing performance improvements.
• Maintaining professional communication skills.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Professional Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET accredited)
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Minimum of 10 years' experience, especially in Mission Critical/Data Center projects
• U.S. Citizen
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, CFD modeling
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

Compensation

Salary range: $100,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and expertise.
