Job summary

Telios Corporation seeks an entry-level Mechanical Engineer for its Mission Critical team in Dallas. You will design and analyze mechanical systems for data centers, focusing on CFD modeling to assess airflow and temperature distributions.

You will develop interior and exterior CFD models, evaluate heat rejection, and support HVAC and related systems. Field investigation and Revit documentation may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or related from ABET-accredited program.
• Undergraduate coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Experience using engineering analysis, modeling, or simulation software.
• Familiarity with CFD or thermal modeling tools such as ANSYS Fluent, Autodesk CFD, SimScale, or 6SigmaDCX.
• EIT certification or FE exam completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, run, and evaluate interior and exterior CFD models for mission critical projects.
• Analyze airflow, temperature distribution, heat transfer, and equipment performance.

Title: Mechanical Engineer-Mission Critical

Location: Dallas, TX

Job Summary

Telios is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our Mission Critical team in Dallas. This position will support the design and analysis of mechanical systems for data centers and other mission critical facilities, with a primary focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling and analysis.

The Mechanical Engineer will develop and evaluate both interior and exterior CFD models to help project teams assess airflow, temperature distribution, equipment performance, heat rejection, and other environmental conditions that influence the design and operation of mission critical facilities.

This position is well suited for an early-career engineer with a strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and engineering analysis who is interested in developing specialized expertise in CFD and mission critical facility design.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, run, and evaluate interior and exterior CFD models for mission critical engineering projects
• Analyze airflow, temperature distribution, heat transfer, equipment performance, and environmental conditions using CFD modeling tools
• Assist project teams in evaluating design alternatives and identifying potential airflow, cooling, or heat-rejection issues
• Prepare clear documentation of CFD model assumptions, boundary conditions, methodologies, results, and engineering conclusions
• Develop visualizations and technical presentations that effectively communicate CFD results to project teams and clients
• Support the design and analysis of HVAC, ventilation, hydronic, and other mechanical systems serving mission critical facilities
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection and scheduling, system layout, and other mechanical engineering calculations
• Assist with field investigations and documentation of existing conditions
• Develop and coordinate project documentation using Revit and other applicable engineering and design software
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, technology, architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, architects, contractors, vendors, and other members of the project team
• Assist with responses to design comments, document revisions, and project deliverables
• Remain actively involved in continuing education and training related to CFD analysis, mission critical mechanical systems, applicable codes and standards, and current design technologies

Minimum Criteria

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
• Successful completion of undergraduate coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
• Demonstrated work or academic experience using engineering analysis, modeling, or simulation software through academic coursework, research, internships, or professional experience
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering data and communicate technical findings clearly in written and graphical form
• Prior internship, co-op, or other work experience in the MEP or AEC industry preferred
• Experience with CFD or thermal modeling software such as ANSYS Fluent, Autodesk CFD, SimScale, 6SigmaDCX, or comparable analysis tools preferred
• Experience with Revit or other BIM/design, CoolSim, or Cadence software preferred
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the FE examination preferred
