Stillpoint AEC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC and mechanical systems across a diverse project portfolio within an MEP consulting environment.

The role emphasizes project leadership, coordination with architectural, electrical, and other teams, and ongoing professional development while delivering technically excellent building solutions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Current HVAC design experience within an MEP/AEC environment.
• Experience with load calculations and equipment selection.
• PE licensure preferred; EIT candidates considered.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and building codes.

Responsabilidades

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems including air distribution and hydronic networks.
• Perform load, ventilation, and energy calculations.
• Develop layouts, ductwork, piping, equipment schedules.
• Evaluate equipment such as AHUs, rooftops, chillers, boilers.
• Coordinate systems with other disciplines.
• Prepare calculations, reports, plans, specs, and documents.
• Support design through CD, permitting, bidding, and CA.
• Provide mentorship and client interaction.

The firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with current experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for buildings within an MEP consulting engineering or AEC environment. Responsibilities and project leadership will align with the individual's technical expertise and experience level.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical building systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, central plants, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, and related mechanical infrastructure
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation calculations, equipment sizing and selection, psychrometric analysis, and energy calculations
• Develop HVAC system layouts, ductwork and piping designs, equipment schedules, mechanical details, and control sequences
• Evaluate and select mechanical equipment including air handling units, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, terminal equipment, and related systems
• Work across a diverse portfolio of project types including commercial, healthcare, K-12, higher education, life sciences, corporate, multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, industrial, and institutional facilities
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Apply ASHRAE standards, mechanical codes, energy codes, and applicable building design standards
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural, civil, and other project disciplines
• Support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration
• Provide project coordination, technical guidance, client interaction, and mentorship based on experience level

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred
• Current HVAC and mechanical building systems design experience within an MEP consulting engineering, architectural engineering, or AEC consulting environment required
• Experience with HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork, piping, ventilation, and other building mechanical systems
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; EIT candidates actively progressing toward PE licensure will also be considered
• Experience with applicable mechanical engineering and design platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, IESVE, EnergyPlus, or similar industry-specific software preferred
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, IMC, IECC, energy codes, and applicable mechanical and building codes
• Experience preparing mechanical engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents
