Job summary

M3 Engineering & Technology is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer, specializing in material handling, to join our multidisciplinary team in North Carolina. You will design and procure mechanical equipment and bulk handling systems for industrial facilities, collaborating with process, structural, civil, electrical, and piping engineers to deliver safe, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing industrial material handling systems.
• Experience with bulk material handling equipment and layouts.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D design software such as Inventor, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Valid passport or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bulk material handling systems for industrial facilities.
• Perform engineering calculations and equipment sizing for conveyors, crushers, grinding mills, feeders, and screens.
• Prepare equipment layouts and general arrangement drawings.
• Develop equipment specifications and assist with equipment selection and procurement.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate equipment interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Serve as Project Manager on small engineering projects, coordinating scope, schedule, budget, client communication, and project deliverables.
