Job summary

Actalent seeks a Mechanical Engineer for New Product Development focused on maritime and autonomous systems in Pocasset, MA. You will lead mechanical design from concept to prototype, create 3D models and drawings, and collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities include building hardware, validating concepts with tests, and supporting manufacturing handoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with mechanical product development and 3D CAD design.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development from concept through prototype and manufacturing transfer.
• Create mechanical designs, 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain complete technical data packages for designs.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and design reviews.
• Build, integrate, and test prototypes to validate concepts.
• Troubleshoot and refine designs during development and testing.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and test engineers.
• Support customer demonstrations and field testing.
• Lead system/subsystem designs for autonomous marine systems.
• Guide designs through first article, test, integration, and handoff to manufacturing.
• Provide engineering support across product lifecycle.
• Contribute to process improvements in design, testing, and handoff.
• Create and manage BOMs for mechanical designs and assemblies.
