Edgewater Technical Associates in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Mechanical Engineer (Major Equipment) to support the Y-12 National Security Complex. The role focuses on estimating, designing, procuring, and constructing major equipment such as gloveboxes, furnaces, high vacuum systems, and casting/machining gear.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering degree from ABET-accredited programs and has around 10 years of relevant experience, with preference for leading multi-discipline machine

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading multi-discipline machine design efforts is preferred.
• Experience producing build-to-print equipment fabrication packages is preferred.
• CREO parametric experience is preferred.

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Engineer (Major Equipment) opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN at the Y-12 National Security Complex.

Description:

The Major Equipment Mechanical Engineer will support the following tasks:

• Estimating, specifying, designing, procurement and construction support of specialty and first of a kind equipment such as gloveboxaes, furnaces, high vacuum systems and metal casting/machining equipment.
• Creating design concepts using Pro/Engineer (CREO) CAD software and topology optimization software as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Experience leading multi-discipline machine design efforts is preferred
• Experience producing build-to-print equipment fabrication packages is preferred
• CREO parametric experience is preferred

Other Job Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Q Security Clearance. Active Q preferred.
