Mechanical Engineer – Machine Design – Greater Buffalo

Hiring a full‑time Mechanical Design Engineer for a first‑shift role in Western New York. This position is ideal for professionals experienced in SolidWorks, mechanical power transmission, and heavy equipment design, looking to contribute to innovative electromechanical systems.

Base Pay Range

$130,000.00/yr – $160,000.00/yr

Description

• Design mechanical systems and components for large‑scale industrial machinery
• Manage engineering projects from concept through design, testing, and implementation
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical drawings, and documentation
• Perform mechanical calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate designs
• Drive cost‑reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on fabrication, installation, and maintenance
• Apply expertise in mechanical power transmission, weldment design, and structural engineering
• Ensure compliance with US and European engineering standards
• Use SolidWorks and other CAD software for 2D/3D modeling and design

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or Mechanical Drafting
• 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial machinery or electromechanical systems
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials properties, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
• Familiarity with low‑cost design, ease of manufacturing, and assembly practices
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
