Job summary

Legrand, a global leader in electrical and digital building infrastructures, seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Union City, CA. You will support next-generation light fixtures, ensure manufacturability, and provide technical production support.

You will collaborate with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to improve designs, support pilot runs, and sustain product lines while maintaining quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience in product design or manufacturing; lighting industry preferred.
• Ability to work with a global team across time zones.
• Experience with sheet metal design and plastics molding is a plus.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation.

Responsibilities

• Support VAVE projects from design through production.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure parts are designed for manufacture and easy assembly.
• Provide CAD modeling, BOM configuration, and document control support.
• Work with engineering, production, and quality on pilot and production runs.
• Sustain current product lines and improve designs for performance and reliability.
• Assist with ECR/ECO execution and cross-functional collaboration.
