Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, is seeking an Engineer, Mechanical to own design projects for mechanical components or systems. Based in Vista, CA, you will generate design inputs/outputs, sustainment, and enhancements with guidance from Senior Engineers.

You will design, develop and maintain robust mechanical designs for new products and improvements, while supporting R&D investigations and regulatory responses. This role reports to Hardware Engineering and is on-site.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Biomedical, Physics or similar discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with CAD programs such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• 2+ years in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust mechanical designs with indicators of critical‑to‑quality features for new products and improvements.
• Support R&D investigations, regulatory responses, field issues, and countermeasures related to mechanical systems.
• Own projects to increase quality, reduce product variation, and utilize appropriate manufacturing technologies with guidance from Senior Engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design inputs, design outputs, and verification/validation practices.
• Execute component and system level troubleshooting for items identified through manufacturing or field escalation.
