Job summary

AIDA-America in Dayton, OH is seeking an engineer with at least 1 year of mechanical engineering experience to support design and analysis on components and subsystems. You will create models, layouts, drawings, and supporting calculations, and assist with BOM creation and documentation updates.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of structures, vibrations, and engineering calculations (stress, strain, thermodynamics, kinematics, fluids, heat transfer) and familiarity with CAD tools (Creo/ProE)

Qualifications

  • 1 year minimum mechanical engineering experience; internship, co-op, or project experience preferred.
  • Understands structures and vibrations; mechanical design fundamentals.
  • Familiar with engineering calculations: stress, strain, thermodynamics, kinematics, fluids, heat transfer.
  • Experience with CAD tools; Creo/ProE preferred, Creo Simulate optional.
  • Knowledge of technical documentation: drawings, tolerancing, GD&T, BOM.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical design and analysis on assigned components and subsystems with minimal guidance.
  • Create/update models, layouts, drawings, and supporting calculations.
  • Assist with BOM creation, documentation updates, and release activities.

  • Participate in and document design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving activities as directed.
  • Learn and apply company standards, safety requirements, and engineering practices to assigned work.
  • Work with designers/drafters and engineers to support documentation content and accuracy.
  • Maintain organized technical records and clear documentation of assigned work.
  • Communicate technical information effectively across departments (electrical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, management, etc.).
  • Practice continuous improvement to reduce costs with the department and company.
  • Participate in job planning and scheduling.
  • Take responsibility to ensure projects/tasks meet goals for cost, schedule and product performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
