Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at an ABET accredited program AND be a maximum of 24 months away from graduation
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (cumulative, and within major)

Responsibilities

  • Complete an assigned engineering project during the internship term
  • Contribute to ongoing capital engineering projects within the plant
  • Prepare project specifications and requirements
  • Coordinate project schedules and use Project Management tools
  • Assist with installation oversight and project closeout activities
  • Gain exposure to large-scale manufacturing facilities and safe practices
  • Utilize AutoCAD to update drawings and create new ones
  • Learn about conveying, combustion, fluid, and pneumatic transfer systems
  • Support Asset management, PM/PdM, and maintenance best practices

Mechanical Engineer Intern (Macon GA) Job

Engineering Internship Program Offerings

Mechanical - Capital Engineering Intern:

  • Completing an assigned engineering project during the term of the internship
  • Contributing to several ongoing capital engineering projects within the plant
  • Experience with and exposure to supporting the Project Management Life Cycle, including:
  • Preparation of project specifications and requirements
  • Project schedule coordination and utilization of Project Management tools
  • Installation oversight, project closing activities, and sustainability initiatives
  • Valuable insight into large-scale manufacturing facilities, equipment, and safe working practices
  • AutoCAD experience - updating existing drawings and creating new drawings
  • Exposure to Conveying, combustion, fluid, and pneumatic transfer systems

Mechanical - Maintenance Engineering Intern:

  • Experience with and exposure to the primary components of Equipment Reliability, including:
  • Asset management and process improvement
  • Capital management and execution
  • Contractor integration and management
  • Development of machine maintenance best practices (PM,PdM, and more)
