Job summary

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for avionics, military, space and industrial applications, seeks Mechanical Engineering students for a Summer 2027 internship. Gain hands-on experience in R&D and manufacturing alongside experienced engineers in a leadership role.

Interns will create/modify dimension drawings and assembly documentation, learn basic CNC programming, and observe lab experiments and tests such as steady state temperature measurements.

Qualifications

• Must currently be studying Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering.
• Recent graduates in one of these programs will also be considered for the role.
• US Person is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify dimension drawings of custom mechanical hardware and fixtures used in production.
• Create and modify assembly documentation such as drawings, travelers, and procedures.
• Learn and create basic programs on VPT's CNC type equipment (e.g. waterjet, automated adhesive dispenser, etc.).
• Observe and monitor experiments and tests in the lab such as steady state temperature measurements.

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, is currently searching for Mechanical Engineering students interested in obtaining a Summer 2027 internship position. This internship will provide an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in both an R&D and manufacturing environment while working alongside experienced engineers who are leaders in their field.

Interns will contribute to a range of engineering tasks including:

• Create and modify dimension drawings of custom mechanical hardware and fixtures used in production
• Create and modify assembly documentation such as drawings, travelers, and procedures
• Learn and create basic programs on VPT's CNC type equipment (e.g. waterjet, automated adhesive dispenser, etc.)
• Observe and monitor experiments and tests in the lab such as steady state temperature measurements

Actual employment will be through a staffing agency of VPT's choosing.

The anticipated starting salary range for this role will be $18 - $30 / hour.
