Position Overview
One of our companies is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer III in Arkansas. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing, collaborative team working on a fast-paced national QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) program. In this role, you'll act as the Subject Matter Expert for mechanical and plumbing systems across multiple projects. With 10+ years of experience, you'll lead client communication, design development, and provide technical mentorship, all while shaping HVAC and plumbing systems that align with evolving codes and standards. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or in-office based on your preference.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the lead mechanical engineer and technical expert across client projects
  • Oversee mechanical and plumbing system design in compliance with building codes and standards
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, plumbing system sizing, and energy code compliance
  • Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and project teams to produce coordinated construction documents
  • Review and ensure quality control of mechanical and plumbing designs
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide training in drafting and code application
  • Maintain direct client communication and contribute to project budgeting and financial success

Requirements:

  • BSME from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 10+ years of mechanical design experience in building projects
  • In-depth knowledge of ICC codes, NFPA standards, and energy code compliance
  • Proficient in HVAC and plumbing calculations (load, water, waste, vent, and FOGs)
  • Ability to work independently and manage a small team (up to 5 staff)
  • Strong written communication skills and experience developing specifications
  • Remote candidates welcome; experience working in a distributed team is a plus
