Abbott in Madison, WI seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to develop and validate medical device automation from concept to integration. You will design mechanisms, actuators, guarding, and structures, while maintaining design controls in a regulated environment.

Candidate should have 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, and strong SolidWorks skills to manage complex assemblies and vendor collaboration.

Qualificações

• BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years as a mechanical engineer; 7+ preferred in medical devices.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for complex CAD designs and assemblies.
• Experience with design controls in regulated environments.
• Experience with medical device design and machine automation preferred.
• Knowledge of CAE for stress, strain and impact analysis.
• Ability to work with electrical engineers and vendors.
• Experience validating designs through testing and design transfer.

Responsabilidades

• Develop medical device automation from concept through design and integration/verification.
• Work on mechanisms, actuators, guarding, structures, and continuing engineering activities.
• Design and analyze mechanical parts.
• Manage complex product assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop integrated electromechanical solutions.
• Source and collaborate with engineering leads and vendors.
• Take products through analysis and design validation testing with internal and external resources.
• Coordinate with design transfer and manufacturing and outside vendors to create fixtures for manufacturing and testing.

Title: Mechanical Engineer III

Location: Madison, Wisconsin, 100% Onsite

Duration: 12 Months

Required Skills:

• Complex Solidworks 3D CAD designs
• Mechanical drawings and design controls in a regulated industry
• Will help develop all medical device automation from concept, through design and integration/verification. The role will work on mechanisms, actuators, guarding, structures, and support continuing engineering activities.
• Design and analyze mechanical parts.
• Manage complex product assemblies in Solidworks.W
• ork closely with electrical engineers to develop tightly-integrated, compact electromechanical solutions.
• Source and collaborate with other engineering leads and parts vendors
• Take products through engineering analysis and design validation testing phases using skills of both the internal team and outside resources
• Cooperate with the design transfer and manufacturing organization and outside vendors in creating fixtures for manufacturing and testing
• BS or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• Good CAD skills preferably in Solidworks.
• Familiarity with CAE tools with regards to stress strain and impact
• Experience with design and requirements of medical devices preferred
• Experience with design of machine automation preferred
• Knowledge of statistical tolerance analysis
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer minimum, 7+ preferred
