Raytheon Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II – Structural Engineer to perform detailed structural analyses across programs. The role requires a DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, with on-site work in Huntsville.

Responsibilities include developing test plans, validating models with test data, and presenting results to stakeholders. Travel to test sites may be required. Salary ranges are provided by RTX as part of the offer process.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with structural analysis tools (PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS/ABAQUS).
• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

The Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department is responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products. From preliminary concepts to fielded weapon system support, MA&T delivers innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & empirically based techniques to state-of-the-art finite element methods leveraging industry leading commercial tools; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.

The Mechanical Engineer II – Structural Engineer position is located in Huntsville, AL and the role is onsite.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant orAn Advanced Degree in a related field
• Experience in structural analysis with any of the following tools: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Working knowledge of mechanical principles to solve classical structural engineering problems both inside and outside of software tools
• 5+ years of professional experience in stress/structural analysis
• Experience in structural testing: planning, organization, execution, data reduction and correlation
• Experience with dynamic shock and vibration analysis
• Experience with solid modeling CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent
• Experience with Matlab

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
