Life Fitness / Hammer Strength in Ramsey, MN is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design, analyze, and release components and assemblies for cardio and strength equipment. You will leverage SolidWorks to develop parts, perform FEA and tolerance studies, and collaborate with product management, manufacturing and suppliers.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of experience, and strong CAD/drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a related field.
• SolidWorks CAD skills with strong drafting and drawing standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
• Experience with BOM development/management and PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and document components and systems using sheet metal, castings, tubing, plastic and electromechanical parts with SolidWorks.
• Perform FEA, dynamic simulations, design calculations and tolerance analysis.
• Develop product specifications, timelines and test plans with cross-functional teams.
• Lead projects and mentor others in the Mechanical Engineering department.
• Travel up to ~20% for supplier visits and prototyping.
