Job summary

Scott Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design and optimize structural enclosures and components for medium-voltage power distribution solutions.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and electrical systems and support production goals. The role requires hands-on design, validation, and collaboration with manufacturing, with emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in power distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; SolidWorks PDM a plus.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ESR, ANSI C37, IEEE C37.20.2, UL/NEMA standards.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specs and electrical diagrams to generate detailed submittals.
• Present technical solutions and obtain seismic certification when required.
• Direct fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation to meet specs.
• Standardize projects and evaluate engineering change requests.
• Create 3D CAD models and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks; release in PDM.
• Perform structural FE analysis to verify integrity.
• Prepare MBOMs for production.
• Provide engineering support to factory for manufacturing issues.
• Collaborate with PMs and operations to integrate electrical systems into manufacturing.
