Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Analysis and Test Engineer in Marlborough, MA to ensure robust structural and thermal design across Raytheon products. You will perform hand calculations, detailed analyses, and generate validation plans with peers and stakeholders.

The role requires a STEM master’s degree and experience with CREO and standard FEA tools. Onsite work and collaboration across teams are essential for success at RTX.

Qualifications

• Academic or professional experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve various program structural design challenges.
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.

What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Engineer for Raytheon, you are responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis
• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve various program structural design challenges
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments

Qualifications

You Must Have

• Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent
• Academic or professional experience in structural design and analysis
• Academic or professional experience with any of the following tools: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.

We Prefer

• Experience with Matlab
• Experience in Structural test and instrumentation

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
