Job summary

RTX is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Engineer in Massachusetts to contribute to structural and thermal design robustness across products. You will perform hand calculations, run detailed analyses, and generate test plans to validate hardware against requirements, supporting products through their lifecycle from design through production.

You will work with experienced analysts on moderately complex problems, present results to stakeholders, and produce archival

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent
• Academic or professional experience in structural design and analysis
• Academic or professional experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis
• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve various program structural design challenges
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports

What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Engineer for Raytheon, you are responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products. From preliminary concepts to fielded weapon system support, MA&T delivers innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & empirically based techniques to state‑of‑the‑art finite element methods leveraging industry leading commercial tools; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.Raytheon is seeking an entry‑level Structural Engineer to join the MA&T Department. In this role you will get the opportunity to work on products throughout their lifecycle from initial design trade studies and proposals through qualification testing to enduring production support.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Matlab
• Experience in Structural test and instrumentation
• Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
