Job summary

Bartelt Packaging, a ProMach Company, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to design packaging equipment, electro‑mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

You will work with customers and suppliers to meet specifications, review drawings, and support manufacturing with root-cause analysis and engineering changes. A BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of machine design experience are required; Inventor/SolidWorks/AutoCAD proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in machine design with manufacturability focus.
• Fluent in Inventor or SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of product handling, machine capabilities, and assembly principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates BOMs and contributes to mechanical design of new products.
• Creates and dimensions engineering/fabrication drawings for sheet metal and machined components.
• Produces installation/training/operator manuals drawings as needed.
• Produces final assembly drawings and maintains drawing database.
• Performs Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Reads and interprets technical drawings and schematics.
• Supports Purchasing/Production; may coordinate prototypes with vendors.
• Designs/executes experiments for R&D and documents results.
• Evaluates mechanical equipment/processes, applying engineering principles.
• Specifies components and modifies designs to meet standards/performance.
• Performs root cause analysis and implements changes.
• Interacts with engineers to ensure regulatory compliance and customer needs.

Bartelt Packaging, a ProMach Company is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to join its team. The Mechanical Engineer plans and designs packaging equipment, mechanical components, electro‑mechanical, and pneumatic systems. The Mechanical Engineer II interacts with other technical specialists and engineers to assure that the equipment meets the customer’s needs and federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines as required or directed by management. Mechanical Engineer II has direct contact with customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies as deemed necessary to perform the job.

• Creates Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Contributes to the mechanical design/development of new products.
• Creates and dimension engineering/fabrication drawings for sheet metal and machined metal components.
• Creates drawings for installation / training / operator manuals as needed.

• Maintains drawing database to ensure current drawings/documentation is available for Production department.
• Will process Engineering Change Orders.
• Reads and interprets technical drawings and schematics.
• Provides Engineering support for the Purchasing/Production department, may coordinate fabrication of prototypes with outside vendors.
• Designs, conducts, and documents experiments for Research and Development.
• Researches and evaluates mechanical equipment, processes and systems applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Specifies components and directly modifies designs to ensure conformance with standards and performance specifications.
• Conducts root cause analysis. Recommends and implements changes as directed.
• Works with a minimum of supervision and manages complex level design tasks.
• Reviews technical proposals and quotations. Provides technical assistance and support to manufacturing, sales, and service as directed.
• Interacts with other technical specialists and engineers to assure that the equipment meets the customer’s needs and federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines.

• 5+ years of experience in machine design. Designing for manufacturability. Packaging experience preferred.
• Must be fluent in use of Inventor (or SolidWorks) and AutoCAD.
