Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronics product design experience.
• 3–5 years of CAD experience (Creo preferred).
• Experience with thermal analysis and thermal management solutions.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and engineering drawing skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.

Mechanical Engineer II

Packet Digital is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to help develop cutting-edge electronic and mechatronic products for portable electronics, embedded systems, battery technologies, and unmanned aircraft applications.

In this role, you’ll lead mechanical product development from concept through production, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to design, prototype, test, and launch innovative solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Design mechanical and mechatronic components and assemblies.
• Lead projects from concept, prototyping, and testing through production release.
• Create engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Optimize designs for thermal performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and product validation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Participate in design reviews and mentor junior engineers.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronics product design experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• FEA, CFD, or other CAE simulation experience.

Additional Requirements

• 10-20% travel, including occasional overnight trips.
• Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements.
