The Engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to play a key role in the design, planning, and implementation of energy infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will manage engineering tasks related to power generation facilities, leading research, design, and commissioning activities focused on enhancing NYPA's energy services. They will ensure compliance with codes, quality standards, safety, reliability, schedule, and performance throughout all activities and deliverables.
This role involves analyzing design effectiveness and functional reliability, and implementing decarbonization, energy efficiency, and clean energy projects involving mechanical infrastructure such as rotational, thermal, fluid, refrigeration, fire protection, and process systems.
Experience with feasibility evaluations, designing, permitting, cost-benefit analysis, construction, and commissioning of complex interdisciplinary mechanical energy efficiency projects in urban and rural environments is essential.
