Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I - PC

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Customer Service Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer I – PC to join our skilled team. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling, managing, and monitoring daily costs (labor and materials) to maximize profitability, and overseeing daily progress to ensure delivery deadlines are met for all production, warranty, or overhead projects. The Project Coordinator acts as the communication link between the production floor, customer, and customer service team for field service repairs, sales repairs, rewind repairs, and recondition repairs, including Level I, II, and III repairs.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Lead: Managing Jobs in Motorbase

  • Follow ISO process timelines to complete jobs and set them as ‘Ready to Invoice’ and submit MRR Reports to customers as required by job level and type.
  • Identify labor and cost overruns; coordinate with Quality Control, Customer Service Manager, and Production Manager to document and communicate root causes.
  • Review and approve Customer Purchase Orders and verify scope of work against Bradleys’ quotes.
  • Create As-Found proposals after disassembling and inspecting motors.
  • Send proposals to the Customer Service Manager for approval.
  • Use green/blue sheet processes to communicate special instructions between customer and production.
  • Update Motorbase job details and job packets as needed.
  • Log changes to jobs following ISO standards.
  • Communicate work discoveries to customers via MRR updates.
  • Coordinate any changes to scheduled ship dates.
  • Manage scope changes, including submitting add-on quotes and creating internal labor quotes.
  • Photograph jobs in progress for customer updates.
  • Follow up with purchasing to ensure timely material arrivals.
  • Create pop-up updates for long lead time parts.
  • Notify production and document expected material arrival dates in Motorbase.
  • Coordinate with purchasing on stock material orders, costs, and invoice postings.
  • Review completed jobs and set them as 'Ready to Invoice.'
  • Contact customers for motor delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Overtime may be required for expedited repairs.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Adaptable to changing environments and processes
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, MotorBase, SharePoint, and CRM preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • No prior experience required for entry-level applicants
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain Vibration Analyst Level III certification
  • Must pass Motor Certification I Course Test within 90 days
  • Forklift certification
  • Proficiency with computers and databases
  • Fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing)

Qualifications

  • Keen interest or knowledge of the motor industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with GTI, Emerson/CSI vibration hardware/software is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical, rotational equipment, or manufacturing environment
