Job summary

RTX is seeking an Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Engineer in the US (Tewksbury area) to design, develop, and integrate radar shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, and hardware interfaces. You will create 3D models and drawings, apply Raytheon engineering processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering by start date, hands-on CAD experience (CREO, SolidWorks, Siemens NX), and eligibility for DoD Secret

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field required by start date.
  • Experience with 3D CAD/design tools.
  • Experience with engineering documentation and release processes.

What You Will Do

The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems. This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects. As a key contributor on a mechanical or cross-functional engineering team, you will be responsible for component and assembly modeling, documentation, design changes, and release processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the mechanical design, development, and integration of Air Defense Ground Equipment systems including radar and communications shelters, launchers, electronic subsystems, and hardware integration components.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and engineering documentation using RTX design tools such as CREO and PDM.
  • Assist with engineering change implementation, drawing updates, and release processes.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams to support program execution and production activities.
  • Perform analytical and technical engineering tasks within a program environment and contribute to design reviews or presentations as needed.
  • Support component integration, documentation updates, and configuration management activities.
  • Apply Raytheon engineering processes, procedures, and standards in daily work activities.
  • Hands-on experience using RTX engineering tools including CREO, PDM, Adobe, and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field (Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) obtained by start date.
  • Engineering project, internship, research, coursework, or hands-on project experience.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD/design tools such as SolidWorks, CREO, or Siemens NX.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience using Microsoft Office or presentation tools.
  • Experience collaborating on team-based engineering or technical projects.
  • Exposure to mechanical hardware design, system integration, or production support environments.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
