Job summary

SNC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop sophisticated mechanical structures and systems for aerospace and defense applications. The role emphasizes delivering new products and processes through the complete lifecycle while maintaining security clearance requirements.

You will conceptually apply engineering principles, use CAE tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Our Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. Youll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or relateddiscipline and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
  • Conceptual knowledge ofengineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity withworking in multi-disciplinary designand development teams

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Understanding ofEngineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
