Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, certify, and deploy advanced mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will help conceptualize complex structures and participate in end-to-end product lifecycles within a rapid, agile environment.

The role requires ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance and experience with multidisciplinary teams. SNC offers comprehensive benefits and a challenging mission focus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Typically 2+ years of relevant experience; higher education may substitute.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with computer aided engineering tools; GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical structures and systems across the product lifecycle.
  • Research, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting-edge mechanical products.
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary design and development teams; ensure proper documentation.

Youll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Bachelors of Sciencedegree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • Typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Practical Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarityworking in multi-disciplinary designand development teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain United States Top Secret Security Clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Understandingof Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
  • Backgroundin the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
